When is the Museum open?
The Museum is regularly open Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 am–5:00 pm, and Friday, 10:00 am–9:00 pm. The Museum is closed Monday.

How much is admission to the Museum and its exhibitions?
Admission to the Museum and its collection is free every day. Admission to the featured exhibitions varies, but is free to all on Fridays and free to Members every day.

The Richardson Memorial Library has numerous resources for conducting your art research.

Does the Museum appraise or authenticate works of art?
The Museum does not authenticate works of art. We recommend that you contact a reputable art dealer, appraiser, or auction house such as Ivey-Selkirk Auctioneers & Appraisers, the American Society of Appraisers, the Art Dealers Association of America, or the Appraisers Association of America. | Collapse

Are there programs offered for families with children?The Museum offers a variety of programs and events for children, including the popular weekly Family Sundays program, Family Classes and Workshops, and holiday-focused activities.

Is the Museum accessible to people with disabilities?For visitiors requiring an accesible entrance, the Museum has provided an accessible ramp and entry at the west side of the main Sculpture Hall Entrance.
The Museum does provide a free wheelchair rental for patrons with limited mobility. Visitors may request a complimentary wheelchair from the Information Desk located in Sculpture Hall.

How do I bring a group to the Museum?All groups, whether led by a Museum docent or self-guided by a teacher, must contact the Museum to arrange a tour. Allow at least four (4) weeks' advance notice. Groups without advance reservations cannot be assured that their preferred galleries or times will be available.

Is there anything else I should know before coming to the Museum?1. Wear comfortable walking shoes. The Museum's collection includes more than 30,000 objects and covers nearly 85,000 square feet of gallery space.
2. Bring your camera. Document your memorable experience with personal photos. We just ask that you turn off your flash to preserve the works on view.
3. Come early. The Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, and until 9:00 pm on Friday. Tuesday and Wednesday mornings tend to be the quietest times and usually afford visitors a solitary experience with the works on view.
4. Come often. The Museum's curators are continually working to rotate the works on view and offer new gallery exhibitions.
5. Take a tour. Free docent-led tours of the collection are available Tuesday through Friday at 10:30 am, and on Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 pm. Tours depart from the Information Center in Sculpture Hall and last approximately one hour. | Collapse

Can I take photos or sketch in the galleries?Photography, sketching, and videotaping of the collection are allowed for personal use only. If your wish, you may sketch (in dry media) or videotape. Flash photography, tripods, monopods, and all other supportive apparatus are not permitted.

What do I do if I lose something at the Museum?If you have left something behind at the Museum, call the Lost & Found office at 314.655.5300. | Collapse
Does the Museum have parking?Free public parking is available in the northwest and northeast parking lots flanking the statue of St. Louis in front of the main entrance of the Museum. Street parking along Fine Arts Drive is also available. Handicap-accessible spaces are available in both parking lots. | Collapse
Where can I eat at the Museum?A temporary Cafe serving light fare (sandwhiches, salads, coffee, and sweets) is located on the Main Level in Gallery 213. (Puck's Restaurant and Sculpture Terrace are closed.) | Collapse
When is Art in Bloom?In January 2010, the Saint Louis Art Museum marked the commencement of its first major expansion in a generation with a ceremonial groundbreaking. The construction activity scheduled during the two-year project will not provide for a complete Art in Bloom.

How can I apply for an internship at the Museum?The Saint Louis Art Museum's PR/Editorial Intern is an unpaid position within the Marketing & Audience Development Department. Please submit a cover letter, resume, including GPA, and three writing samples to PublicRelations@slam.org for consideration.
Every summer, the Curatorial Department offers an unpaid, competitive eight-week internship from early June through early August. Check back in January for more information on this internship opportunity.
