In Gallery 133E, chairs are grouped to show some of the ways they are evaluated and appreciated as works of decorative art. The installation mixes works made at different times and places, using a variety of materials and techniques. Because chairs are almost universally familiar objects with a simple function, the form lends itself to endless experimentation.
