Eric Lutz, Associate Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs, leads a series of presentations and discussions focused on themes represented in the exhibition. Joining in the discussion will be artists Teresa Hubbard and Alexander Birchler, Lutz Koepnick, and Susan Bright.

The Photography and Video of Hubbard / Birchler

Artist Teresa Hubbard (Irish/ American/ Swiss, born in Dublin, Ireland 1965) and Alexander Birchler (Swiss, born in Baden, Switzerland 1962) have been working collaboratively in video, photography, and sculpture since 1990. Their work invites suggestive, open-ended reflections of memory, place, and time. Photographs and a video by Hubbard / Birchler are featured in both the exhibition and in New Media Series: Hubbard / Birchler.

*Presented by contemporary film and media scholar Lutz Koepnick, Chair, Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures, Professor of German, Film and Media Studies, and Comparative Literature, Washington University in St. Louis, this program will feature a selection of avant-garde films from the last twenty-five years that use the language of film to explore ideas of theatricality.
