Scenes from Montroville W. Dickeson’s Panorama

Dickeson commissioned a panorama to accompany his traveling lectures about the excavation of ancient burial mounds and 19th-century Native American life. The scenes artist John J. Egan produced span miles and centuries, while his use of brilliant color and theatrical lighting effects imbue the panorama with a sense of spectacle.
