Indians at Their Games

In this scene, a group of Native Americans plays a variation of a skill-based game known as chunkey. The goal of the game was to throw a spear or pointed stick either through or near a rolling disk or ring. Chunkey was played in ancient times as well, and the stone disks were found in the types of mounds Dickeson excavated during his tour of the Mississippi River Valley.
