Romanticism
Gallery 205
The reinstallation of Romanticism focuses on the major artistic movement that flourished in the early part of the 19th century. The Romantics embraced the importance of emotion and subjective feeling as a reaction against the belief in rational thought that had dominated Western thought since the Renaissance.
This installation highlights the international range of Romanticism and includes richly colorful works from England, France, and Germany.
Simon Kelly, curator of modern and contemporary art, curated this reinstallation in Gallery 205.
