Assistant Director of Public Programs and Education, Saint Louis Art Museum
Bill Appleton is the assistant director for Public Programs and Education at the Saint Louis Art Museum. Prior to joining the Museum staff in 2002, he held a similar position at the Morgan Library & Museum in New York. Appleton is active in the national arts community and serves on the Education Committee Board of the American Association of Museums as well as a number of visual and performing arts boards in St. Louis and New York. In addition to his work as a museum professional, he has more than fifteen years of classroom experience teaching a broad range of subjects including art history, film, and Latin. In 2012, he was awarded a Kress Fellowship for Museum Education at the Clark Art Institute. Appleton received his MA in classics from Brown University.
