Helen Forbes Fields is a partner of Forbes, Fields & Associates Co., LPA, where she is active in the firm's public law and municipal finance practice.

Fields has issued various public and privately placed revenue and general obligation bonds for the State of Ohio and its political subdivisions, the Board of Education of the Cleveland City School District, and other cities and counties in the US. She was law director to the City of East Cleveland, Ohio, in 1997 and 2005, providing legal opinions, and preparing or approving all contracts, ordinances, and resolutions. She also represented the city while negotiating collective bargaining agreements and defended the city successfully on various Unfair Labor Practice claims. Currently, Fields concentrates her practice in the area of litigation including employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, and labor law. She graduated cum laude in 1981, from Spelman College with a BA in political science and received her JD in 1984 from Howard University School of Law. She also attended Loyola University Summer Law School, Rome, Italy, in 1983.

Fields was admitted to practice before the Ohio Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and the United States Court of Appeals in the Sixth Circuit. She is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, where she has served on the Bar Admissions Committee.

She is a graduate of Leadership Cleveland, class of 1994 and served as member of the Office Review Committee for State Treasurer J. Kenneth Blackwell in 1994. She has served on several boards throughout the City of Cleveland. She currently serves as a Trustee for the Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA).

Fields is married to Darrell A. Fields, and they have two sons and a daughter, William, Brandon, and Camille.
