Upcoming Exhibitions
Postwar German Art in the Collection
Beginning June 29, 2013
Special Exhibition Galleries

Focusing on postwar German art, this temporary installation will occupy the Special Exhibition galleries of the newly opened East Building. The exhibition addresses themes and groupings such as the legacy of Joseph Beuys; the large-scale works of Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke, and Anselm Keifer; and the influence of the Düsseldorf School of Photography. Drawing from great strengths in the Museum's German collection, these galleries will include works by Georg Baselitz, Jörg Immendorff, Marin Kippenberger, Bernd and Hilla Becher, Andreas Gursky, and Candida Höfer.

Curated by Tricia Y. Paik, Assistant curator of modern and contemporary art, with the assistance of Nathan Stobaugh, research assistant, Postwar German Art in the Collection will be on view beginning June 29.
