Tips for Visiting Monet

Monet Weekly Update

Week of 1/17–1/22
This is the last week to see Monet's Water Lilies; all remaining tickets have SOLD OUT.

Where can I get a ticket?

  • Advance tickets are highly recommended and can be purchased:
    • Through MetroTix: online at http://www.metrotix.com or over the phone at 314.534.1111 or 800.293.5949. (There will be a $2.75 processing fee added to the price of each ticket.)
    • In person at the Museum: Tickets purchased at the Information Desk will not incur the $2.75 processing fee.
  • The Museum anticipates sold-out days, especially during Fridays and the Thanksgiving and end-of-year holidays, so plan ahead and get your tickets early!

What does it cost?

  • Ticket prices: $10 per adult, $8 per senior (65+ yrs) or student with valid ID, $6 per child 6 to 12, and free to children five and younger. (Even though it's free, children five and under will still need a ticket.) Museum Members receive free admission everyday.
  • On Fridays, timed tickets are free. Free Friday tickets can be picked up in advance just like regular tickets (see above for details). Online and over the phone reservations for Free Friday tickets will still incur the $2.75 processing fee.
  • Paid tickets include an iPod tour; on Free Fridays, the iPod tour is available for $3. iPod tours on Free Fridays must be purchased at the same time as tickets and may not be purchased separately.

What about tickets for Fridays, isn't it free?

  • Even though entry is free on Friday, timed entry tickets are still required.
  • Free Fridays are very popular and timeslots will sell out early in the day. Entry is only guaranteed if tickets are picked up or ordered in advance.
  • Tickets may be pre-ordered in-person at the Museum or through MetroTix via phone or online. It is not possible to order tickets by phone through the Museum.
  • Group tours are not available in ticketed special exhibitions on Fridays. Free Friday tickets are limited to 8 free tickets per order.
  • Paid tickets do include an audio tour. If you would like to take the iPod audio tour on a Free Friday, the fee is $3 and it must be purchased as part of the original ticket; it cannot be paid for at the time of entry.

What are the hours?

  • The Museum opens at 10:00 am Tuesday–Sunday. The Museum is closed on Monday. The Museum closes at 5:00 pm Tuesday–Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. On Friday, the Museum closes at 9:00 pm. For more visiting info, click here.
  • The Monet's Water Lilies exhibition opens with the Museum; the last entry time is one hour prior to the Museum's closing time for that day.
  • Timed tickets for the exhibition are available in 15-minute increments, and, for the enjoyment of our guests and for the safety of the works of art, only a limited number of tickets are available during each time slot.

Where can I park?

  • Free parking is available in front of the Museum in the two parking areas to either side of Art Hill Plaza and along Fine Arts Drive in designated areas. (Watch out for lengths of the road marked with No Parking signs – those rules are enforced!)
  • The closest Metro Stop is at the corner of DeBaliviere and Forest Park Parkway – a 20-minute walk; the #90 bus runs through Forest Park. For a map of the metro system, or more information, visit www.metrostlouis.org.
