SUMMARY:African Film: A Conversation
DESCRIPTION:Join Wilmetta Toliver-Diallo and Charlie Farrell\, 2022-2024 Romare Bearden Graduate Museum Fellow\, in conversation about African film and its importance. Toliver-Diallo is the founder of the African Film Festival at Washington University\, an event she began in 2005. Every year\, the best of recent African cinema is screened right here in St. Louis. This conversation will offer insight into trends in African cinema and will highlight Wangechi Mutu: My Cave Call on view through March 31\, 2024\, in Gallery 301. This conversation will be followed by a Q&A. \nWangechi Mutu: My Cave Call is curated by Charlie Farrell\, the 2022–2024 Romare Bearden Graduate Museum Fellow\, and Simon Kelly\, the curator of modern and contemporary art.
