DESCRIPTION:In the 1960s and 1970s\, tipis circulated alongside domes as emblems of environmental sustainability and countercultural cool. Yet these architectures advanced radically different visions of the future. \nJessica L. Horton\, associate professor of modern and contemporary Native American art at the University of Delaware\, will tell the story of a Blackfeet painted lodge commissioned for the United States Pavilion at Expo 70 in Osaka\, Japan\, which answered urgent Cold War debates about pollution and climate change.
