Join today. \nExplore the landscape photography of local artist Jennifer Colten with Friends of Photography. \nSince 2015\, Jennifer Colten has concentrated her photographic work in the American Bottom: the 175 square miles of lowlands along the Illinois side of the Mississippi River\, across from St. Louis. This landscape holds a complex layering of human and ecological conditions: floodplains\, industries\, company towns\, farming\, and Native American Mound sites. As in so many areas around the United States\, the region of the American Bottom embodies multiple histories with essential human stories to be told\, land to be acknowledged\, and historical narratives to be reckoned with. \nRegistration is required.
