DESCRIPTION:With Cindy Meyers Foley\, Scantland Family Executive Deputy Director for Learning and Experience\, Columbus Museum of Art \nThe volatility of the world today demands creativity and a set of behaviors often practiced by artists including tolerance for ambiguity\, wonder\, curiosity\, imagination\, and play. In this interactive workshop\, Cindy Foley will outline the role museums can play in developing what she refers to as “courageous imagination.” Learn from the experimentation and insights of the Columbus Museum of Art and their research into the way artists think. Experiment and play with ways to catalyze thinking with others. Foley will demonstrate how our own willingness to model curiosity and to enable a type of thinking that imagines the world not as it is\, but as it could be\, can lead to a more beautiful\, just\, and equitable society.
