SUMMARY:Teacher Workshop: Uncovering Layered Mysteries
DESCRIPTION:In this teacher workshop\, participants will tour Concealed Layers: Uncovering Expressionist Paintings with Saint Louis Art Museum conservators Courtney June Books and Melissa Gardner to learn about the techniques and tools used to research and care for works featured in the exhibition. Through hands-on activities focused on paint\, pigments\, and the physics of light\, participants will explore STEAM connections and technical imaging. Participants can extend their explorations further by visiting the exhibit Matisse and the Sea. Teachers will receive a boxed meal and take-away resources. \nCurrent and pre-service educators are invited to enroll. Enrollment is free and on a first-come\, first-served basis. Space is limited\, and enrollment requests are considered with regard to equitable school and/or school district representation. \nPlease contact teacherprograms@slam.org with any questions.
