ST. LOUIS, Nov. 11, 2019— Celebrate the season at the Saint Louis Art Museum on Dec. 14-15 at Winter Celebrations, a festival of free performances and art activities inspired by traditions from around the world.

The festival includes music and dance performances by Afriky Lolo, the Confluence Chamber Orchestra, Dance Center of Kirkwood, Dances of India, Hispanic Festival, Inc., the St. Louis Christmas Carols Association, St. Louis Osuwa Taiko and Staam A Cappella.

Visitors will be able to participate in hands-on projects on both days of the festival. At the Create Lab, visitors will be able to make festive holiday decorations they can take home. At the Give Lab, they can help lift someone’s spirits by making a seasonal card that will be donated to a local charity.

Highlights for Saturday, Dec. 14

  • 11 am: The Confluence Chamber Orchestra plays The Snowy Day in the museum’s Farrell Auditorium.
  • 12:15 pm: The Dance Center of Kirkwood performs selections from The Nutcracker in the Sculpture Hall.
  • 1:15 pm: Dances of India performs in Sculpture Hall.
  • 2 pm: Afriky Lolo performs in the museum’s Farrell Auditorium.
  • 3:15 pm: The St. Louis Christmas Carols Association sings seasonal favorites in Sculpture Hall.

Highlights for Sunday, Dec. 15

  • 11 am: The Confluence Chamber Orchestra plays The Snowy Day in the museum’s Farrell Auditorium.
  • 12:15 pm: Staam A Cappella, Washington University’s Jewish a cappella group, performs in Sculpture Hall.
  • 1 pm to 4 pm: Holiday cookie decorating in the museum’s education center.
  • 1:15 pm: Hispanic Festival, Inc. performs in Sculpture Hall.
  • 2:15 pm: St. Louis Osuwa Taiko performs tradition Japanese drumming the museum’s Farrell Auditorium.
