Your Museum Transformed
Opening in mid-2013!
Designed by award-winning architect Sir David Chipperfield, the more than 200,000 square foot new East Building will provide galleries, public space, and more than 300 parking spaces, as well as a new, fully-accessible entrance on Fine Arts Drive.
Also underway are new education spaces and a loading dock in the South Building, and reinstalled galleries in the Main Building. Over 13,000 square feet of space will be renovated to provide additional space for classrooms, public use, and permanent collection galleries. A dedicated bus/group tour entrance will be located at the end of the South Building. This new entrance will relieve traffic congestion from Fine Arts Drive and improve safety for the tens of thousands of school children who visit every year.
The Museum remains open during construction. To make the most of your visit, check the
