The Museum Shop has always been known for an eclectic assortment of exquisite, art-inspired gifts, including art glass, jewelry, books, posters, and toys. Now there's even more to love with two locations, both fully stocked with extraordinary items: the main Museum Shop, located on Level 1 of the South Building (across from the Cafe) and the stylish Exhibition Shop, which can be found in the new, Chipperfield-designed East Building.

The Museum is committed to maintaining a safe and comfortable environment, both for our visitors and our collections. Please take a look at our guidelines to see how you can help protect and preserve our artworks and have a pleasant, respectful atmosphere in the Museum. For the safety and preservation of the collection, the Museum asks that you follow these policies.
Backpacks must be checked at one of the Museum's two coat check locations, along with food and drink, large bags, umbrellas and any other items that might cause accidental damage. Child carriers must be worn in the front or checked at the coat check; strollers are available free of charge. Anything larger than 11" x 17", including signs, posters, and promotional materials must also be checked at a coat check. Large bags and backpacks also are subject to search.
Remain behind the floor tape and stanchions, and stand at least 3 feet away from the artwork. Please do not touch the artwork.
Photography, sketching, and videotaping of the collection are allowed for personal use only. Flash photography, tripods, monopods, selfie sticks, and all other supportive devices are not permitted. Photography is not allowed in the Featured Exhibition.
Please note: photographs and videos taken of visitors may be used to publicize the Museum.
Museum visitors are welcome to sketch in the permanent collection galleries using dry media without easels any time during regular open hours; sketching is not allowed in the Special Exhibition Galleries; sketchers should ask staff to direct them to portable stools for use in the galleries.
Artists that require daily set-ups (painters and copyists using easels and/or working in wet media, sculptors working in water-soluble clay or polymer clay, etc.) require prior submission of the Copyist Form
. Once paperwork is approved, copyists may set up and work 10:00 am – 4:30 pm Tuesday through Sunday with the exception of 10:00 am – 8:30pm on Fridays, under the conditions outlined in the form.
Weapons are not permitted in the Museum.
The Museum campus is smoke-free.
Silence all cell phones while in the galleries.
Food and drink are not permitted in the galleries.
Vapor or e-Cigarettes are not allowed inside the Museum
