NOTES
This figure’s dramatic headband consisting of small clay pellets densely arrayed in a pattern, may represent individual kernels of corn. From under the figure’s heavy cape emerge two well-articulated hands clasping the twisted knot of an incense bag, with its long, fringed pouch hanging in front of the figure. Unusual in some respects, the vessel demonstrates the range of imagery that could be combined in a single object.
