NOTES
This tripod vessel is a specific ceramic shape called pyriform for its resemblance to a pear. The orange color identifies it with the early Postclassic period. The carved motifs on the middle band may be shells, with the compressed ovals beneath representing water. The faintly visible black shapes on the bottom band are calligraphically rendered water birds, perhaps cormorants.
