Seaweed, Maine

In this photo, seaweed along the Maine coast creates a dense web of overlapping shapes and forms. There is an evocative physical presence in its glistening blades amidst a dark mysterious background. The photographer used a large-format camera to achieve tremendous clarity and detail. The tight composition makes the subject ambiguous and encourage new possible interpretations.
