NOTES
The biomorphic shape that occupies the center of this image is reminiscent of Richard Deacon's laminated wood and sheet metal sculptures. The appearance of this large-scale work exists between the rigid abstract forms of machinery and the softened shapes of the human body. Deacon creates beautifully layered etched lines and subtle textures that capture a sense of spatial illusion. The composition seems to operate like a blueprint for the creation of this organic design by the sculptor.
