Notes:
[1] A pair of matching mustard pots were ordered from the Wiener Werkstätte by Leopoldine Wittgenstein in 1905. The Wittgensteins may have retained them for their own use, though it is possible that the Wittgensteins gave them to a newlywed couple, the Stonborough-Wittgensteins ["Viennese Silver: Modern Design 1780-1918." Edited by Michael Huey. Germany: Hatje Cantz, 2003. p. 254-255].
[2] Paul Asenbaum is listed as the contact person on Museum documents, including faxed invoices from House of Decorative Arts Limited [SLAM document files].
[3] Invoice from House of Decorative Arts Limited, dated April 23, 1990 [SLAM document files]; Minutes of the Collections Committee of the Board of Trustees, Saint Louis Art Museum, May 24, 1990.
