In this image of the photojournalist Eugenia Lemberg, Alexander Rodchenko makes striking use of diagonals in her tilted posture, her striped dress, and the planks of wood on the ground. Rodchenko was the leading proponent of the “new vision” in Russia.It was not his aim merely to convey information with his photographs, but rather to have them function as the means for a psychological response to a dynamic new era.
