NOTES
With stunning grace and beauty, "Cactus" records the prickly green surface and torch-like bud of a flowering cactus plant. The work is an intimate and masterful presentation of Joseph Stella’s abilities as a draftsman and colorist. On several occasions the artist expressed, “That all our days may glide by, serene, sunny…each must begin with the study of a flower.”
