NOTES
Two figures composed of fluid dark lines stand in an abstract, otherworldly landscape. Elements of the cosmos and night sky seen in Joan Miró’s 1953 Painting, including a red sun and asterisk-shaped stars, are repeated in this lithograph. The horizontal green and blue marks in this print place the figures firmly on land, unlike the free-floating figures characteristic of Miró’s Surrealist style. Here they may be standing before a swath of grass and a body of water beneath a cloudy sky, basking in the light of the bright red sun.
