NOTES
This stunning goblet was decorated by Willem Jacobsz. van Heemskerk, the greatest of the 17th-century Dutch glass engravers, who created the calligraphic design on its bowl.
The subtle flare of the bowl’s shape, coupled with the graceful sequence of knobs along the stem and the wider radius of the foot, make this a particularly fine example of the Dutch glassmaker’s art.
