NOTES
In light of its strength and its ability to be molded, plastic was discovered to be eminently suitable for the design of one-piece furniture, leading to the creation of a number of new chair forms with strong sculptural qualities. The sweeping cradle shape of this chair uses plastic to dramatically reinterpret the traditional rocking chair. Appropriately named Dondolo (Italian for swing), its floating, cantilevered seat is a testament to the rigidity and sculptural potential of molded fiberglass.
