1996 -
Saint Louis Art Museum, given by The Joseph and Robert Cornell Memorial Foundation [2]

Notes:
[1] All works of art still in Cornell's possession at the time of his death passed to the Estate of Joseph Cornell, also known as The Joseph and Robert Cornell Memorial Foundation [Lufkin, Martha. "Art and law: Antagonism may soon cease." The Art Newspaper 75 (November 1997): 10]. The estate did not provide any indication that there may have been previous owners. It is likely that the electric box was always in Cornell's possession.
