NOTES
Wimar was rigorous in his illustration of specimens found on his trips to the American West. The clump of prickly pear, bush of hill sage, and buffalo berry in this sketch were plants commonly found along the upper Missouri River. The stone axe and beaded bag are so minutely detailed that even the method of stitching and construction are clearly conveyed.
