NOTES
Tiny quail feathers are encased between two layers of transparent black silk organdy. To create these pockets, computer-driven mechanized looms were interrupted so that the feathers could be inserted by hand. The delicate, dotted feathers glow through the sheer cloth, emphasizing and subtly contrasting with the equally-subtle grid design. Designer Reko Sudo’s witty, innovative textiles push the perceived boundaries of craft, art, and industry.
