NOTES
In this drawing a man who is wearing a skullcap seems to be imagining four others. His thoughts are contained in a cartoon bubble shaped like a clover leaf. The red dot in his eye represents his thought process. According to Rosemarie Trockel, the drawing of this man is about the visualization of alternatives. Above him is an image of a black hole, a symbol of the untapped unconscious, which appears in numerous works by Trockel done around the same time.
