NOTES
This drawing, like many of Erwin Pfrang's works, is inhabited by contorted human figures, animals, and isolated body parts. Embryos and newborns, along with other human figures, snouts, stumps, genitalia, and dislocated limbs are seized by the downward circular current of a drain. Pfrang's tendril-like lines depict tortured figures who convey a sense of disorientation and alienation. Defying the rules of gravity and logic, these fantastical forms and figures give shape to realms where dream and reality become indistinguishable.
