NOTES
The long, twisted fringe at the bottom of these boys’ leggings immediately sweeps away the footprints of the wearer as he walks, removing all signs of movement for others to trace. Made of soft hide and embellished with a thin line of shimmering beads and green silk ribbon, these leggings exemplify characteristics of Southern Plains style. This style emphasizes the natural beauty of tanned hides enhanced with yellow ochre, and the precise use of beaded adornment.
