NOTES
This window’s elongated rectangles in shades of white, blue, red, green, and yellow illustrate George Grant Elmslie’s transition in mid-career from the organic, curvilinear ornament he produced during his tenure with Louis Sullivan to a more rectilinear geometry. This is one of nine clerestory windows that ornamented and illuminated the Madison State Bank in Madison, Minnesota, built in 1913.
