[1] This object was made in 1992 as part of a limited edition of 15 and remained in the artist's collection until his death on November 2, 1995.
[2] After the death of the artist, this object passed into the possession of his immediate family in Tokyo, Japan. This would jave included his wife and widow, Yoshida Chizuko (1924–2017), his daughter Yoshida Ayomi (born 1958), and his son Yoshida Takasuke (born 1959).
[3] This object was acquired by the gallery directly from the family of the artist in 2023 [see e-mail message from gallery director Katherine E. Martin to curator of Asian art Philip Hu dated August 1, 2023; copy in SLAM document files].
