NOTES
The figure modeled on this vessel represents the Harvester, a deity associated with agriculture. The brown and red spots on the face imitate paint worn during harvest rituals. The Harvester is typically depicted in a frontal position wearing a conical hat and holding various vegetable plants. Most of the vegetables are domesticated varieties shown in a naturalistic manner. The figure clutches what appear to be a jicama plant in the right hand and a cassava plant in the left hand. Multicolored pepper plants flank the figure.
