NOTES
Hiroshi Sugimoto captured the physical memory of light on a projection screen in a single still frame of Radio City Music Hall. Generated by leaving the aperture of the camera open for the duration of a film, the photograph compresses several hours into what appears to be one moment. The curved orientation of the seating and the proscenium of the theater frames the subtle movements of moviegoers who appear like actors in a second performance directed by Sugimoto.
