2022 Kwanzaa Celebration: Teseto Yalew–Young, Gifted, and Black
Enjoy a day of culture, performance, and tradition during one of the region’s biggest Kwanzaa celebrations. Celebrated at the Museum for more than 20 years, the free annual Kwanzaa Celebration is presented in partnership with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., St. Louis Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter.
Gallery activities
Make a zawadi, or gift, during a hands-on art activity in the Museum galleries from 10 am to 2 pm. Use our scavenger hunt to explore art related to the themes of Kwanzaa. Pick up your scavenger hunt guide at the Sculpture Hall welcome desk.
Performance
Enjoy a performance by Spirit of Angela West African Dance and Drum in the Museum’s Farrell Auditorium from 11 am to 12:30 pm. Although the event is free, tickets are required for the auditorium performance. Tickets will be available on-site only at the Museum on December 31 starting at 10 am. Limit of 6 tickets per person.
