Art Speaks—Contemporary Art + Sound Selections
Join us for an event exploring modern and contemporary artworks by African American artists, with Maggie Brown-Peoples, 2024–2026 Romare Bearden Graduate Museum Fellow. Artworks featured are on view in the “Spaces of Resistance” installation in Gallery 243, paired with sound selections by MTTVVV.
How does music influence change? How do artists express resistance? During this event, art commentary will be paired with curated sound selections to dive into these questions.

About MTTVVV
Born and raised in St. Louis, MTTVVV explores and expresses himself through design, sound, and visuals. His work embraces innovation in these areas while also connecting to deep cuts and hidden favorites. There is no single genre or sound that defines him; instead, his soundscapes shift through time and space, uniting us all under the common sound created by MTTVVV.
