Judy Watson is an Indigenous artist whose matrilineal family is from Waanyi country in Northwest Queensland, Australia. She is a member of the first generation of Aboriginal artists to employ the conventions of a studio-based fine art practice to examine contemporary identity and historical trauma. During this talk she will discuss her artistic practice and her abstract painting in the Museum’s collection titled suture.
This virtual program will take place via Zoom and will include opportunities for participants to ask questions with the Q&A feature. Attendees’ mics and cameras will not be activated. This event will have automated closed captions.
