Black History Month Tour
In honor of Black History Month, SLAM curators will offer tours on Fridays in February spotlighting different works by Black artists in SLAM’s permanent collection. This week, Amy Torbert, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Associate Curator of American Art, will give the tour focusing on Black artists associated with the Federal Arts Project, which will be the subject of an exhibition opening in August titled The Work of Art: The Federal Art Project, 1935–1943. The tour will feature paintings by Allan Rohan Crite, Charles White, and Walter Ellison.
Tours begin at the Sculpture Hall welcome desk. No reservation is required.
