About St. Louis Christmas Carols Association and the Kingsbury Place Singers

The St. Louis Christmas Carols Association began in 1911 when William H. Danforth and a group of friends decided to bring joy and goodwill to their neighbors by caroling outside their homes. Initially, they did not plan to collect money, but found listeners gave money when they sang. Being philanthropic businessmen, they donated the funds to the Children’s Aid Society, the organization’s first beneficiary, to help underserved kids throughout the following year. The St. Louis Christmas Carols Association’s collections help fund the important work of children’s agencies in the area. The nonprofit group has raised more than $3 million to date.

The Kingsbury Place Singers are the St. Louis Christmas Carols Association’s volunteer, semiprofessional, costumed caroling group. They have historically performed at public and private holiday events throughout St. Louis with proceeds funding the association’s partner nonprofit agencies.
