Exploring with the Artist—Impressions of Nature

In this interdisciplinary workshop, high school students will visit the exhibition Women Impressionists and the Land to learn about the Impressionist movement and how landscape and nature imagery contributed to the rise in status of women artists in France during the years 1860–1910. Following the tour, students will go outside with an artist instructor to create a series of mixed-media artworks inspired by nature and explore their relationship to the natural world through mindfulness and reflection.

This workshop is designed for students in grades 9–12. This program is free, and transportation assistance is available for qualifying schools. Lunch will be provided. Registration is required, and space is limited.
