Family Sunday schedule

1–4 pm, Sculpture Hall Alcove
Artists First will provide a collaborative mural activity, which highlights “Artists First for Veterans,” a creative support program for current and former armed services members that fosters the development of positive self-identity, self-expression, and community reintegration. Artists First staff and veteran artists will share about the therapeutic impact of art and about the creative practice of veteran artists who work at the Artists First studio.
1–4 pm Sculpture Hall
This week’s create lab will feature an art project inspired by artworks in the Museum collection that feature a connection to the military.
1:30 pm, Grigg Gallery
The US Air Force (USAF) Band of Mid‑America, clarinet quartet will play a 30–45 minute program in celebration of Veterans Day.
2:30 pm, Sculpture Hall
Join us for a 30-minute tour of related artwork found in the Saint Louis Art Museum collection. Space is limited, and sign-up is required. Sign-up begins at 1 pm in Sculpture Hall. The Family Tour leaves at 2:30 pm from the welcome desk.

Artists First is an inclusive, nonprofit art studio empowering artists of all abilities. Artists First uses creative self-expression to build equity, equality, and empowerment in the Saint Louis region and beyond. Their program Artists First for Veterans is a nontraditional, creative support program for current and former armed services members that supports the development of positive self-identity, self-expression, and community re-integration. The therapeutic impact of art has a profound healing effect for participants with diverse needs including individuals coping with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries and those who require a supportive outlet to process their unique experiences and personal narratives.
