Family Sunday—Wacky Wax
Uncover the stories of the Museum’s collection on select Sunday afternoons with a gallery exploration and hands-on art activities. This week, explore the collection with an eye for wax, both as a material used to create artwork and as the subject some artworks portray. Enjoy the Untitled Batik artwork in Morton D. May and Louis D. Beaumont Foundation Gallery 103, then head to the Create Lab to make your own wax-resist artwork inspired by Flower Vase with Wax-Resist Design (kakiyū nuki-e kabin), which is on view in Mr. and Mrs. John Peters MacCarthy Gallery 226.
