Family Sunday: Birds of a Feather Flock Together
You’re invited to the Museum every Sunday for hands-on art activities and special interactive components for kids within the galleries. Each month’s activities focus on a different, family-friendly theme.
Throughout January, learn about the animals found in works of art at the Saint Louis Art Museum during Family Sundays. The theme is inspired by the new collection audio guide, Animals in Art.
Create LAB 1 Pm – 4 PM
On January 22, create a bird mosaic inspired by Fragment of Floor Mosaic from the Upper Level of the House of the Bird Rinceau, Room 1, Antioch (Daphne), Syria, c.526–540, and the many other birds found throughout the Museum.
Family Friendly Tour 2:30 PM
A 30-minute family tour through the galleries starts at 2:30 pm. Sign-up for the Family Tour is required. Sign-up is available only on-site and begins at 1 pm in Grigg Gallery.
Read-Aloud 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM
Join us in Gallery 107 at 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM for a guided looking activity with Bird Figure and a read aloud of the book Bird Boy written by Mathew Burgess, illustrated by Shahrzad Maydani.
