Family Sunday–Celebrating Black Artists
You’re invited to the Museum for Family Sunday! Enjoy hands-on art activities and special interactive components for kids within the galleries. Family Sunday activities focus on a different, family-friendly theme each time. This Family Sunday will be celebrating Black artists.
Participate in an artist-led sewing project with Oliva Davis of Craft Academy who will teach you how to sew together a hand-drawn quilt square to construct a community quilt!

Visit Ebony J. Wright, a St. Louis based artist, as she works on a current project and ask questions about her process. Ebony challenges societal expectations with her bold artwork that blends childlike figures and abstract elements. Drawing from the works of Kerry James Marshall, Romare Bearden, Varnette Honeywood, and aspects the Baroque Period, Ebony’s artwork commands visibility and tells her story as a black artist.
2:30 PM TOUR
Join us for a tour of connected artwork found in the Saint Louis Art Museum collection with a 30-minute Family Tour. Space is limited, and sign-up is required. Sign-up is available only on-site and begins at 1 pm in Sculpture Hall. The Family Tour leaves at 2:30 pm from Sculpture Hall.
