Family Sunday—Contemporary Portrait Photography
You’re invited to the Museum every Sunday for hands-on art activities and special interactive components for kids within the galleries. Each week’s activities focus on a different, family-friendly theme.
Join us for a Family Sunday related to the free exhibition New to the Museum: Prints, Drawings, and Photographs in Gallery 235 and the Sidney S. and Sadie M. Cohen Gallery 234.
New to the Museum celebrates 65 new arrivals that have not yet been displayed. Learn about works on view for the first time, including this work by Stephanie Syjuco, Total Transparency Filter (Portrait of N). Syjuco, a Filipino American artist, share her message using fabric props in a way that complicates what you can see in the image.
Inspired by Syjuco, create your own photographic composition using our photo booth and fabric props and collage materials.
