Family Sunday—Crumble and Create
Family Sunday activities focus on a different, family-friendly theme each time. Explore how unconventional materials can be transformed in this Family Sunday focused on the works of Anselm Kiefer, his creative process, and his interest in art, magic, and alchemy.
Family Sunday schedule
1–4 pm, Energizer Classroom
Visit William Bander, chemistry teacher from Mary Institute and Saint Louis Country Day School, who will demonstrate a metals experiment related to the ancient art of alchemy in a pennies-into-gold science demonstration.
1:30–2 pm, Grigg Gallery
Watch a traditional German dance performance by the German Cultural Society of St. Louis.
2:30–3 pm, Sculpture Hall
Join us for a tour of related artwork found in the Saint Louis Art Museum collection. Space is limited, and sign-up is required. Sign-up begins at 1 pm in Sculpture Hall. The Family Tour leaves at 2:30 pm from the welcome desk.
